   I would ask yourself what kind of drummer do you want to be. Then look at their resumes and decide which fits the style you’d like to learn. Someone with a orchestral or symphonic background might be quite different from that of a rock or jazz drummer. BUT, you do have to learn the fundamentals as well. Also, if you may feel more comfortable with a teacher of the same sex, as it’s usually close quarters for drum lessons.

   All music instructors have their own styles of teaching and different students excel with different methods. The only way to really know is to take a lesson with both. There generally aren’t ‘contracts’ so just take a single lesson from each, and figure out which one you are most comfortable with.
   Also, age and gender have no bearing on teaching ability.

   go with their experience, style, and personality. Age and sex really shouldn’t have anything to do with it.

   I would ask each of them who their influence is and then chose according to which one answers that question with someone I agree with.
