   well my drummer only took 2 months of lessons and he can still play in a band, but if you want to take them their abou $25 a lesson.

   i think my drum teacher gets paid 45$ a month from my parents for lessons but hes not that good of a teacher you dont need any skills and it dosent matter that your not very strong im pretty weak to but im good at drums

   heey im actually in drum lessons right now :]
   I have been playing drums my whole life so far, but never was “good”
   soo i decided to take up drum lessons..
   They are really good with people who already know a basic beat and its a lot easier when you kno it.
   But, if you have no experience at all, then they are also great.
   they take the time step by step to teach you it.
   but, you should have a drum set to practice when you dont have lessons, makes it a whole lot better

   I never took any lessons, which allowed me to learn the drums from scratch, my own way. The lessons might be useful (you will form less bad habits in your drumming), but if you have the slightest clue about rythm patterns, pitch, tone, whatever it is, then like any other instrument you can learn by ear.
   As for the strength part, I’m a small guy, but i can still pound the **** out of my drums to the point of noise complaints from the neighbours. You definitely will build up strength in your calves, chest, forearms, but that totally depends on what genre you want to play…You won’t look like Brock Lesnard playing jazz drums.
