   I too have been into music my whole life. Both my parents are into music, as well as my older brother. I sing, play the guitar, and the piano.
   I would reccommed getting a teacher. They can really show you some new things that you could never have taught youself, all because they have experience.

   I would say at least try some official lessons. Give it a good 6-9 months and then if you don’t feel like you are getting much out of them, you can always quit.
